The London Branch is looking to increase its involvement in the Private Finance Initiative (PFI) and Public Private Partnerships (PPP) area by taking participations in UK based projects within all sectors of this market. Our aim is to work with experienced lead managers, with our level of participation assessed on the merits of each transaction.
The London Branch has a dedicated team focused on growing this portfolio of assets, with each transaction assessed on its key strengths on a case by case basis.
An example of where the London Branch has contributed, is the recent participation in the lending for Project MoDEL, the Ministry of Defence’s flagship estate strategy project. Involving six RAF bases in Greater London the strategy is to relocate to a single integrated base at RAF Northolt, with the surplus sites then being freed up for disposal and development. The project was awarded to a joint venture between Vinci Plc and St Modwen Properties Plc, which will be responsible for managing the entire project, funding the construction requirements at Northolt, the relocation of personnel, and the disposals, the first of which took place in January 2007.
