Annex "Information on data protection/consent clause for the processing and use of data in the Postbank Group”
New technologies, new legislation and corporate mergers are resulting in changes and necessitating organizational and technical adaptations in data processing in commerce, administration and in private households. We would like to inform you of a number of technical adaptations and changes that will affect you as customers in your dealings with the Postbank Group in connection with these requirements.
The Postbank Group offers its customers comprehensive advice and support based around the topics of money, home and retirement pensions and insurance. To facilitate the provision of advice on all issues relating to financial services in the Postbank Group – including for purposes over and above that of the relevant signed agreement – it is necessary for Postbank to transfer information to the individual companies of the Postbank Group to allow data to be processed and used at these companies. To the extent that these companies employ advisers for these purposes and these act exclusively for the Postbank Group, this information also has to be transferred to the advisers for the same purpose and to allow the data to be processed and used by the latter.
Although the individual companies only use all this data to provide advice and support for the relevant customers, the law also deems that this constitutes a “data transfer, in which the provisions of the German Data Protection Act are to be observed.”
For this reason, since April 2006, all Postbank product mandates have contained a declaration of consent form for the transfer, processing and use of data within the Postbank Group, which you sign to grant us the necessary consent.
If you have not issued or have discarded this declaration form, you can download, complete and return the consent declaration form (ca. 63KB) at any time. Once we have received the declaration, we can then arrange comprehensive, individual and product-specific advice and support from the individual companies.
