Retail business
Postbank offers its retail customers simple, reasonably priced products for their daily needs. Its range extends from payment transactions to the deposit banking and lending businesses to bonds, investment funds, insurance policies and home savings contracts.
As a multi-channel bank, Postbank is conveniently accessible for its customers: in its branches, online or by telephone. It has the densest branch network of any bank in Germany. In its own 850 branches it offers all its products along with qualified advice on financial services. On top of this, there are thousands of branches of Deutsche Post in which selected Postbank services are available and more than 900 Counselling Centers of Postbank Finanzberatung. More Than 4,000 mobile advisors make offers primarily on capital building and provisions.
Postbank occupies a top position in online and telephone banking in Germany. Postbank customers now maintain more than 3 million checking accounts and 600,000 securities accounts online. 3.8 million use the option of telephone banking, with the trend towards further increases.
Corporate Banking business
In its business with more than 30,000 corporate clients, Postbank relies on its core competencies. It offers solutions for payment transactions, commercial real estate finance, traditional corporate finance for SMEs, leasing, factoring and extensive investment management. PB Firmenkunden AG, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Postbank provides support for Postbank’s corporate clients at its locations in Germany both in person and over the telephone. Experts for commercial real estate finance are available internationally at the locations in London and New York. Centrally, there are also product specialists for complex finance. The product range is rounded off by extensive investment and balance sheet structure management.
Transaction Banking
In 2003 Postbank put its new core banking-software it developed together with SAP into operation and equipped its central computer center with new hardware. It thus has the most state-of-the-art transaction platform of any bank in Germany. In 2004, Postbank opened its new Transaction Banking field of business, with which it presents itself as a service provider to financial services companies. They are offered services such as payment transactioning and account management, as well as credit processing. Postbank is handling payment transactions for Deutsche Bank, Dresdner Bank and HypoVereinsbank.
