Postbank easytrade commissions Netlife with first brokerage application for WAP-capable mobile phones
Share dealing in future using mobile phones/ first market solution to be presented at CeBIT

Postbank EasyTrade.AG, Bonn, and Hamburg-based Netlife AG, are jointly developing mobile brokerage applications based on the WAP standard (Wireless Application Protocol). In future, Postbank EasyTrade customers will be able to conduct a large part of their stocks and shares trading using their mobile phones. The application runs on all WAP-capable mobile phones currently available from Nokia, Motorola or Ericsson and soon to be offered by other manufacturers as well. Netlife and Postbank EasyTrade will present their joint WAP application at the CeBIT 2000 in Hanover.

“We are currently on the verge of the next huge revolution in online brokering”, says Raphael Vaino, Head of Technology for Netlife AG. “An increasing number of people will be taking advantage of the comfort of conducting stocks and shares trading from anywhere using mobile phones”. The Netlife solution enables users to access account and portfolio information, to place share transaction orders, to access share prices and check the status of their order placements. Furthermore, customers can place alarm indicators for the various share prices. Their mobile phones will then contact them if the share prices fall below or rise above these indicators.

Postbank has already commissioned Netlife with the development and installation of their holistic front-office e-brokerage system. With this new application, the bank wishes to offer its customers a further, innovative sales channel for transactions. In accordance with Postbank plans, Postbank EasyTrade is – in the medium term – to assume a leading position within the German brokerage market.
