he Supervisory Board of Deutsche Postbank AG on Friday resolved changes to the Management Board of Postbank. Dirk Berensmann (38), responsible for IT/Operations, and Lothar Rogg (51), responsible for over-the-counter services in the Consumer Services division, have been appointed to the Management Board as at January 1, 2002. Following the successful integration of DSL Bank into Postbank, Wolfgang Schneider (53), formerly responsible for the Mortgage Lending division on the Management Board, will retire from the company on December 31, 2001 and devote himself to other duties.
In parallel with the changes in composition, Postbank has also redefined the responsibilities within the Management Board as per January 1, 2002. Dr Wolfgang Klein will also be responsible for Mortgage Lending, apart from the consumer services area of product marketing. The two divisions Operations and IT will be combined to a new division IT/Operations.
Dirk Berensmann has been employed by the Postbank Group since 1999. He has since been responsible for the re-orientation of the bank's IT and thus for the co-operation with SAP AG on the development of a standard software for retail banks. Since 2000 he has been responsible for Application Management on the Management Board of Postbank Systems AG (Bonn). Prior to that Berensmann was employed by McInsey&Company (Hamburg/Frankfurt) as a consultant for Financial Service Providers/IT from 1993 to 1999 and was most recently a partner of the company. From 1988 to 1992 the graduate mathematician was employed as a consultant for IT Project Management/Software by James Martin Associates (Germany) GmbH (Hamburg).
As General Manager of Postbank and co-manager of the Consumer Serivces division, Lothar Rogg has been responsible for the entire over-the-counter services of the bank since 1999. He has been Sector Manager of Marketing/Sales at the headquarters of Deutsche Post AG (Bonn) since 1991 and is responsible for the restructuring of the branch network and the sale of postal and bank services. Rogg is the Speaker of the Sector Management Board Branches in the business area Financial Services in the Deutsche Post World Net Group. He is thus responsible for the strategic and operational sales control of the 13,000 sales outlets and the 25,000 employees. Rogg was employed by the Metro Group (Düsseldorf) from 1981 to 1991 and had various management positions. Prior to that he learnt the various facets of retail sales from the ground up at several stops following completion of the School for Economics.
Thus, from January 1, 2002, the Management Board of Postbank will consist of Prof Dr Wulf von Schimmelmann (Chairman), Dirk Berensmann, Stefan Jütte, Dr Wolfgang Klein, Volker Main, Loukas Rizos and Lothar Rogg.
