Postbank: one million customers using online banking
Women gaining ground / easytrade in new layout

Postbank has broken the one million online customers barrier, underpinning its target of becoming market leader in online banking. The number of online customers has risen by 190,000 within one year, an increase of 24 percent. This has been achieved by the consistent introduction of new Postbank online services, such as financial statements and online advice. Together with the 300,000 easytrade securities deposit accounts, Post-bank now manages a total of 1.3 million online accounts.

Online banking has long since ceased to be a male preserve. The latest figures reflect this: on average, 35 percent of Postbank online customers are female. This development is led by the younger age groups. Among 20 to 29-year olds, the ratio of women is particularly high at 44 percent. In contrast, the 40+ age group is still predominantly male (68 percent).

Most online bankers, around 140,000, live in the Hamburg area. The Berlin area is in second place, with around 130,000 customers.

The most recent example of the improvement of online services is the re-designed Postbank easytrade website. Postbank securities customers can also benefit from an improved user experience and the standardised Postbank navigation method. The quickfinder on the homepage enables faster access to popular functions such as the stock market lexicon, chart analysis and the fundfinder. The call-back service is also now available at Postbank easytrade. Postbank saves customers’ tele-phone costs by calling them back at their preferred time.

Postbank is one of the pioneers of online banking. It has been offering this convenient form of network-based account management since 1983, and has been present on the internet at  www.postbank.de  since 1996. The brokerage service at   www.easytrade.de  was introduced in September 2000.
