Deutsche Postbank AG will participate in Hypoport AG, Berlin, with a 9.5 percent (600,000 shares) stake. The share purchase agreement was signed on March 26, 2007.

With the B2B financial marketplace EUROPACE, Hypoport operates the largest German online transaction platform for concluding financing products. A completely integrated system networks more than 30 banks with several thousand financial advisors, thus enabling the quick and direct conclusion of property financing and instalment loans.

Postbank is among the most important partners of the EUROPACE marketplace and, with its DSL Bank brand, conducts more than 75% of its property financing and instalment loans business with sales partners through EUROPACE. Before a possible initial public offering of Hypoport AG, Postbank thus bolsters its close business relationship through this participation. The final purchase price is keyed to the future stock exchange price. A price of EUR 10 per share has been agreed on as a prepayment.

With this qualified minority stake, Postbank underscores its high degree of interest in Hypoport’s model for success while ensuring that the independence important to Hypoport’s business model is maintained. The majority of the shares will continue to be controlled by both of the co-CEOs, Prof. Thomas Kretschmar and Ronald Slabke.
