Deutsche Post has sold a minority stake of 29.75 per cent in Postbank to Deutsche Bank (XETRA: DBKGn.DE / NYSE: DB) for Euro 2.79 bn or Euro 57.25 per share. The acquisition of this stake is subject to approval by regulatory and anti-trust authorities and the German Government and will close in the first quarter of 2009.

Deutsche Postbank today awarded three student teams from Bonn, Cologne and Regensburg the Postbank Finance Award 2008. The Bank aims to use the prize to encourage students in all subject areas to get involved in current issues in public finance. 80% of the prize money will go toward equipping the winning higher educational institutions. At €70,000, it is the highest German higher education award and has already been awarded five times.

Good news for all Postbank customers who use online banking: with immediate effect, all customers can use the mTAN (mobile transaction number) function for free. The charge of 6 cent per requested mTAN has been eliminated.

Despite the turbulence on the capital markets in 2007, Deutsche Postbank International S.A. (PBI) in Luxembourg once again succeeded in generating excellent earnings. Profit before taxes grew by 1.7% to €72.7 million in comparison with the previous year. The bank also boosted its core business areas.

The Register Court today informed BHW Holding AG that the resolution passed at the BHW Holding AG Annual General Meeting on July 21, 2006 - transfer of all shares of minority shareholders to Deutsche Postbank AG against an appropriate cash settlement - has been entered into the Commercial Register of BHW Holding AG.
