The EU Directive 2560/2001 – effects for corporate customers
In accordance with EU Directive 2560/2001, the same fees are to be charged for cross-border EU standard remittances within the EU from July 1, 2003 as for comparable domestic remittances. An EU standard remittance is defined when a remittance is carried out in EUR; the amount does not exceed €12,500 and details both the IBAN (International Bank Account Number) of the recipient and the BIC (Bank Identifier Code) of the receiving institution.
Remittance orders (EU standard remittance) that fulfil all the following criteria:
-
IBAN of the recipient specified
-
BIC of the recipient institute specified
-
Amount not exceeding €12,500
-
Amount in the currency 'EUR'
-
Remittance to a country which is subject to the EU Directive
are processed at the comparable domestic conditions. All other foreign remittances are executed in line with the terms agreed with you. Please ask your personal account manager for the actual fees for payments to countries in the EU and other foreign countries.
We have made the new DTAZV data record description as at May 1, 2005 and a "guide to completing foreign remittance forms" with important information available to you in the Download Center.
| Our hint: if you are the payer of an EU standard remittance, always get the recipient of the payment to inform you of their IBAN and the BIC of the recipient institute for remittances to countries in the EU. With these two pieces of information EUR payments can be processed automatically. This saves time and money and you can benefit from the fee advantages for EU standard remittances. |
