Customer Monitor, Germany 2000: Customers are very satisfied with Postbank
Rise to second place against industry trends/good grades awarded for reselection and further recommendation
58 percent of customers are completely or very satisfied with Postbank. This is the result of the current "Customer Monitor, Germany 2000". To this end, Postbank now ranks second among all banks and savings banks in Germany. They were only beaten by the Sparda banks, which have been "subscribing" to the top positions for many years now.
43,568 consumers were surveyed by telephone between April 26 and August 19, 2000, to determine their satisfaction in terms of services provided by companies, craftsmen and administrations. One particularly pleasant result: Postbank takes a top position among financial services providers. Compared to 1999, the bank was able to considerably improve its position in 2000 and, with a 2.26 grade (best grade 1.0, worst grade 6.0) came closest to the market champion. The grade awarded to Postbank last year was 2.31.
11,521 Germans were surveyed with regard to their satisfaction with the financial services industry, 533 of these with reference to Postbank. In response to the question "Overall, how satisfied are you with the Postbank services?", 22 percent said "Completely satisfied", 36 percent stated "Very satisfied" and a further 36 percent said "satisfied". Only six percent of those interviewed were disappointed with Postbank. Particularly praiseworthy were the correctness of the postings, the simplicity of the bank statements, the online banking and the great value for money ratio.
The response to the question as to whether customers would ever choose Postbank again or recommend the bank to others again went in favour of Postbank, which was awarded first position. The grade for reselection was 1.5, versus 1.6 for the industry as a whole, and for recommendation at 1.9 for the Postbank, versus 1.95 for the overall banking sector. In both areas, Postbank was able to significantly improve it position versus the previous year.
In total, Postbank has experienced a definite upward trend for many years now. A five-year comparison of global satisfaction shows that, in 1996, Postbank was awarded a 2.44, with the industry as a whole achieving a 2.43. Until 1999, the other financial services providers (2.31) were always ranked considerably above Postbank (2.34). With a 2.36 grade, banks and savings banks, which include Postbank, rank third in the financial services industry. The sector is led by automotive insurers (2.22) ahead of medical insurance companies (2.32). Building societies were awarded a 2.49 and life insurance providers a 2.54.
