Strong focus on the requirements of SMEs and large companies

Press release of Apr. 02, 2004

Postbank has set up its own company for the field of corporate customers, namely “PB Firmenkunden AG”. The new subsidiary is geared towards providing support for SMEs and large companies. The focus of the range of services offered is on solutions relating to payment transactions. This is supplemented by different forms of financing such as national and international real estate financing, leasing and factoring as well as logistic finance.

“We have created this new company to improve the focus on our corporate customers, which number in excess of 40,000. In payment transactions, 90% of the DAX-30 and 70% of the MDAX companies already rely on our expertise. We are taking advantage of this and also intend to set new benchmarks in the management of corporate customers”, explained Klaus Houben, member of the Management Board at the new company PB Firmenkunden AG. To this end, the bank has launched a new customer management concept that will be implemented at 14 Postbank locations throughout all of Germany. It includes the direct personal management of SMEs and large companies by the key account management and prime telephone support provided by the account management. The relevant management units receive support from the central product specialists for issues relating to commercial lending, for innovative solutions from the field of e-business/e-banking and logistic finance as well as from the local corporate customers sales service units. Flat hierarchies in the company ensure quick decision-making channels and optimize the service.

“At the same time, the business partners of PB Firmenkunden AG benefit from the solidity and security of one of the major German banks, as they naturally remain Postbank customers, even from a legal perspective”, emphasized Klaus Houben.

“PB Firmenkunden AG” is a 100% subsidiary of Deutsche Postbank AG with a total of some 350 employees. As a result of the spin-off, Postbank also meets the legal requirements of the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority with regard to the “Minimum Requirements for Lending by Banks”. The Management Board comprises Klaus Houben and Harald Roos. The Supervisory Board consists of Prof. Dr. Wulf von Schimmelmann, Stefan Jütte and Loukas Rizos. The company is based in Bonn.
