After nine successful years of service for the Postbank Group, the Supervisory Board and Dr. Wolfgang Klein have decided that, due to differences of opinion regarding the Bank's future business policies, Klein's term of office as Chairman of the Management Board would terminate in best mutual agreement with effect from 30 June 2009.

The Supervisory Board expresses its gratitude to Wolfgang Klein for his work on behalf of the Postbank Group. The successes achieved by Klein, especially in the retail business, his service as Chairman of the Management Board of Deutsche Postbank AG and his hard work in connection with the financial markets crisis will provide a lasting foundation for the ongoing positive development of the Postbank Group. Under his leadership, Postbank expanded to become Germany's largest retail bank. Despite the extremely challenging market environment, Postbank continued to deliver a positive performance during the last year.

In appointing Stefan Jütte, the Supervisory Board is confident of having entrusted the top job to an experienced manager who can successfully lead Postbank into a new phase of its corporate development. Jütte's appointment is good until 30 June 2012. He has been a member of the Postbank Management Board since 2000. Jütte was previously Spokesman for the Management Board of DSL Bank, which merged with Postbank. Jütte is also in charge of Postbank's corporate banking business, one of its largest earnings drivers.

The Supervisory Board and Wolfgang Klein are seeking a cancellation of the management contract in mutual agreement that is below the recommendations of the German Corporate Governance Code.

Dirk Berensmann, COO and hence member of the Management Board with responsibility for IT/Operations, and the Postbank Supervisory Board have reached best mutual agreement for the termination of Mr. Berensmann's office with effect from midnight on 29 May 2009. The Supervisory Board thanks Dirk Berensmann for his constructive, successful and dedicated service.

He will be succeeded on 30 May 2009 by Dr. Mario Daberkow, who until now has been responsible as Executive Manager for Postbank's transaction banking business. Daberkow has worked for Postbank since 2002.
